Project Overview

Serving as the primary production sound lead for a dialogue-driven senior capstone short film. Responsible for capturing high-quality production audio, managing dialogue clarity on set, and preparing structured audio stems for editorial.

Production Sound Responsibilities

  • Arrived on set prepared and ensured all audio equipment was tested and ready prior to principal photography

  • Captured dialogue using boom microphone placement for primary takes

  • Adjusted mic positioning and monitored gain levels to prevent distortion or underexposure

  • Utilized secondary recording methods (lav/recorder placement) when boom positioning was restricted by framing

  • Maintained clean vocal capture while preserving camera composition

  • Monitored audio levels in real time to ensure balanced, production-ready sound

Dialogue & Post-Production Support

  • Organized and delivered structured audio stems to support editorial workflow

  • Ensured accurate lip sync alignment between dialogue and picture

  • Cleaned and prepped dialogue tracks to improve clarity and tonal consistency

  • Assisted with limited ADR recording and integration where necessary

  • Collaborated closely with director and editor to maintain narrative and emotional continuity
